Ontario Minister Visits Continest to Explore New Opportunities for Canadian Infrastructure and Defence Projects
PRESS RELEASE
Székesfehérvár, Hungary – June 3, 2026
Victor Fedeli, Ontario’s Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, visited Continest’s manufacturing facility in Székesfehérvár, Hungary, where discussions with the company’s leadership focused on strengthening Canadian–Hungarian economic relations and exploring opportunities for the deployment of Continest’s innovative foldable container technology in Canada.
The Canadian delegation arrived in Hungary following visits to Tallinn and Vilnius, before travelling from Budapest to Continest’s headquarters in Székesfehérvár. During the visit, the delegation toured the production facilities and reviewed Continest’s rapidly deployable and sustainable foldable container solutions, which have already proven successful in nearly 30 countries worldwide.
The discussions centred on opportunities to further support the growing demand for temporary infrastructure solutions in the Canadian market, where Continest units can offer a highly efficient alternative. The parties explored potential avenues for cooperation with local end users and industry partners that could enable the wider adoption of Continest’s technology across event infrastructure, defence, disaster management and housing projects.
The timing of the visit was particularly significant, as Continest units will also be supporting infrastructure operations at BMO Field (Toronto Stadium), one of the venues of the upcoming FIFA World Cup, further demonstrating the international competitiveness of this Hungarian-developed technology.
During the meeting, Vidor Kis-Márton, CEO of Continest, Éva Kovács, Chairwoman of the Board, and Dániel Tegzes, Chief Strategy Officer, presented the company’s international achievements and flagship projects. Among the references highlighted were major North American and Canadian projects, the aluminium AluNest containers manufactured for the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB), the container kindergarten established in Ukraine, the ‘Ohana Hope Village housing project on Maui, Hawaii, and the nearly 400-unit container fleet recently returned from supporting Winter Olympic events.
During the discussions, Minister Fedeli noted that one of the key objectives of his visit to Hungary was to prepare for the forthcoming visit of Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. He emphasized that Canada places great importance on further strengthening its economic, trade and defence-industrial relations with Hungary.
“It was a great honour to welcome Minister Victor Fedeli to our manufacturing facility in Székesfehérvár. Canada represents a strategically important market for Continest, and we are confident that these discussions will open up new perspectives for the North American deployment of our innovative infrastructure solutions,” said Vidor Kis-Márton, CEO of Continest.
The meeting in Székesfehérvár marked only one stage of an ongoing dialogue. The parties are expected to meet again in the near future at Eurosatory 2026 in Paris, one of the world’s leading defence and security exhibitions, where discussions on potential joint projects and business opportunities will continue at the Continest stand.
