Customer Story: How Renta Norway and Continest Built a New Kind of Rental Legacy
From Local Roots to National Reach
Before Renta became one of the dominant forces in the Nordic rental industry, department manager André Hellebergshaugen and his team at Mylift were already pushing boundaries. As one of the largest Norwegian-owned rental companies, Mylift focused on scaffolding, machinery, and construction. But André had a different vision:
“We realized events could help grow the other parts of our business. It wasn’t just about revenue—it was about brand building. Continest helped us make that vision real.”
In 2019, they discovered Continest’s foldable modular units at the Showman Show in the UK. What started as a spark of curiosity soon ignited into a defining moment for the company.
A Leap of Faith—On a Train
After visiting the Continest factory in Hungary, André and his former leader sat on a train ride home, discussing the trip.
“We believed in the people, not just the product. That’s critical when you’re spending real money.”
While still on that train, a local customer called: “Do you have anything for ski boot prepping?” André replied:
“That’s crazy timing. I was literally at a factory yesterday looking at the perfect product for you.”
The customer needed 30 units in 7 days. Within 48 hours of the factory visit, Mylift placed the order. Continest shipped three trucks to Sjusjøen Norway, with two technicians flown in to help assemble the cabins on-site.
“Both sides believed in each other. That was the start of a really good partnership.”
Designed for Events, Built for Growth
Where most modular products were designed for long-term construction sites, Continest was built for mobility and speed—tailored to the needs of events.
“We needed something fast to set up, fast to move, and cost-effective. Continest was the only solution made for events.”
That first order grew quickly. From an initial vision of 30-40 units, Renta Norway now operates a 250-unit Continest fleet, rented out across Scandinavia’s major events.
“It sells itself. If you’re moving 100 containers, do you want 10 trucks or 50? The savings—financial and environmental—are obvious.”
From €200K to €5M: The Rise of Renta’s Event Business
At the beginning, event revenue was just €200,000, limited to local customers. But with Continest at the core, Renta Norway adopted an ambitious strategy: target the largest players and prove they could deliver.
“We went straight to the biggest events and said, give us a shot.”
They secured work with Live Nation, All Things Live, Oslo Pride, HES & CO, Holmenkollen Skifestival and other iconic Norwegian events. In 2025, their event revenue will exceed €5 million.
“We’ve gone from one of the smallest after the pandemic to one of the leaders in the industry.”
Continest at the Core of a One-Stop Rental Model
Continest is now one of the base products of Renta’s event division. Supporting services like fencing, toilets, power, and machinery are wrapped around it—creating a one-stop shop.
“You want a Continest unit? Why not get everything from us? That’s how we built the model.”
Events served include:
- Summer festivals: Sweden Rock, Tons of Rock, and more
- Winter sporting events: heated athlete cabins, ski boot stations, volunteer cafés
- Exhibitions and one-off concerts
Renta is already eyeing upcoming World Ski Championships (2027–2029) across Scandinavia—events that could require 100–300+ containers.
Learning by Doing—And Sharing Back
The road wasn’t without its bumps. From snow inside the containers to steep terrain and multi-story installations, Renta learned through experience.
“We learned the hard way—rubber seals, insulation, site visits, customs logistics. But we figured it out.”
Their feedback helped influence Continest’s ongoing product development—ticket office windows, side-facing commentator cabins, and more.
“That’s the strength of the partnership. Continest listens. You take feedback seriously and involve your clients.”
The Bottom Line: Continest Sells Itself
André wraps it up in typical no-nonsense style:
“When you’re talking about 100 containers or more—Continest sells itself. It’s not just about CO₂ savings. Ten trucks versus fifty. You save money and emissions. What’s not to like?”
Looking Ahead
With a packed summer season and huge projects on the horizon, Renta Norway isn’t slowing down. Their Continest fleet is already booked solid from May to mid-August, and their influence continues to grow across the Nordics.
“We want the same customers in 2021 to still be with us in 2031. Continest has helped make that possible.”
